Adventure awaits you in the beautiful and sunny San Juan Islands. Join Western Prince Whale Watching & Wildlife Tours on an intimate sized tour (limited to about 30 passengers or less, with seating for 38) as we explore the protected waters of the Salish Sea and discover the islands' abundant wildlife and spectacular beauty.
We are the longest operating whale watching/wildlife tour company in the islands. We aren't the biggest, nor do we strive to be. As an owner operated company, we take pride in providing a quality tour with a personal touch.
Orca whales roam freely and unpredictably throughout the islands, and may travel long distances in a day. We offer flexible trips (3-4 hours) and a fast boat with a greater range, allowing us to encounter more diverse wildlife and find whales at greater distances. Our goal is to not only share the magnificent Orcas with you, but to also share the other beautiful and diverse wildlife we find along the way.
Your trip aboard the Western Prince II will be fun, interactive, educational, and comfortable. Your crew for the day will include a skilled Coast Guard Licensed Captain and an experienced Local Naturalist Guide, with a 2nd Naturalist added when 15 or more guests are aboard. We happily provide extra binoculars, blankets, sea bands, books and jackets for passenger use. Snacks, hot and cold beverages, and souvenirs are available for purchase on board.

Experience for yourself the sound of an eagle's call from high atop a majestic cedar tree. Watch in amazement as Dall's porpoises seem to effortlessly ride the bow waves of the Western Prince, and lazy harbor seals, sunning themselves along the rocky shoreline, barely notice us.

Beware of companies who advertise “guaranteed whales”, as only an amusement park can truly guarantee whale sightings. The magnificence of seeing an Orca in the wild is unsurpassed, largely because they are still wild and can be unpredictable.
High Orca whale and wildlife sightings are made possible by our central location to where the whales travel and play, our faster vessel, our 3-4 hour cruise (which allows greater search time) and our experienced crew. Make an educated choice and join us! |
We have a deep respect for the whales and wildlife we encounter and strive to act accordingly when we are in their presence. Our tours encounter Orca whales on over 90% of trips May through September, which is as high an Orca sightings record as any company on the water. If Orcas are around we will know about it and we will take you to see them. And, if they are not, we will still have a worthwhile and wonderful trip.
